CheatsDB 2.1 Update: Organization & Reseller Databases, Violations, Search Bar & More

We're back with another major update to CheatsDB!

Since the release of CheatsDB 2.0, we've continued working on the platform, improving existing features and building the systems that weren't quite ready for the initial launch. This update brings some of our biggest improvements yet, particularly to the Organization Database, the introduction of a dedicated Reseller Database, and the way users interact with the platform.

We've also spent a considerable amount of time working behind the scenes, redesigning parts of the backend and polishing the overall user experience.

There's quite a lot to cover, so let's take a look at the highlights.

Redesigned Organization Database

The Organization Database has received a major overhaul.

We've redesigned the way organizations are presented and made it easier to browse software providers, explore their products, and compare their reputation across the platform.

Organizations can now be explored using filters such as Game, Rating, and Trust Score.

Redesigned Organization Pages

Alongside the database itself, we've completely redesigned the organization pages.

The new layout brings together information that was previously scattered across different product listings, making it easier to get a broader picture of an organization.

You can now explore an organization's product catalog, check its overall community rating and Trust Score, review recorded violations, and browse the event history of its linked products.

We've also improved the organization management experience, making it easier for representatives to maintain their information through CheatsDB Dashboard. There's still room for improvement, but this redesign is a significant step toward making organization pages more useful for both regular users and software providers.

New Reseller Database

We've introduced a dedicated Reseller Database, something we've been planning for quite some time.

Until now, CheatsDB has primarily focused on individual software products and the organizations behind them. However, choosing the right product is only part of the process. Finding a reliable place to purchase it can be just as important.

The Reseller Database page follows the same structure as the Organization Database page, with a few key differences. Resellers do not have a Trust Score by definition. Instead, they use a classification system similar to the one used for products.

New Reseller Pages

Of course, a new database wouldn't be particularly useful without dedicated pages for the resellers themselves. Each reseller can now have its own profile, bringing together its offers, community reviews, and recorded violations.

Reseller pages follow a structure similar to Organization pages, with a few key differences. Unlike Organizations, Resellers do not have an Insights section. Instead, their pages feature an advanced product catalog and a dedicated review section, where users can leave feedback based on their experiences with the reseller.

Spotlight-Style Search Bar

Finding your way around CheatsDB should be simple, especially as the platform continues to grow.

That's why we've introduced a new global search experience inspired by Spotlight.

Instead of navigating through multiple pages, you can now use a single search interface to quickly find software databases, specific products, organizations, resellers, and useful pages across CheatsDB.

The interface also supports keyboard navigation, making it more convenient for those who prefer using shortcuts rather than clicking through menus.
It's a relatively simple addition, but one that we believe makes everyday navigation noticeably better.

Violation System

Transparency has always been an important part of what we're trying to build with CheatsDB. With this update, we're introducing a dedicated Violation System for organizations & resellers.

Visually, the system follows a similar approach to our existing Events system. Each organization or reseller can have multiple recorded violations, with individual details available for every case. However, violations come with a few unique mechanics.

Each violation has one of two statuses, Active or Resolved, along with a Severity Score ranging from 1 to 10, depending on the seriousness of the infraction.

If an organization or reseller gets 10 or more severity points, the consequences are applied automatically:

  • Organizations: All products associated with the organization are moved to the Scam classification in their respective software databases.

  • Resellers: The reseller itself is moved to the Scam category in the Reseller Database.

All violations and their details are publicly accessible. You can find them in the Violations section of the sidebar on organization and reseller pages. For organizations, recorded violations are also displayed on their linked product pages.

Each violation links to a dedicated thread in our Violations forum, where users can review the incident and its available details.

Older incidents for which complete supporting evidence has been lost over time will most likely not be documented on forums.

Discord Logs Are Back!

Good news for those who like to stay up to date with everything happening on CheatsDB!

We've brought back our Discord Logs system, and this time it's more advanced than ever. This feature allows you to receive instant notifications whenever changes are made to our databases, helping you stay informed without constantly checking the website for updates.

For now, this functionality is exclusive to our Discord server, making it one of the easiest ways to keep track of what's happening across CheatsDB.

Other Improvements & Bug Fixes Worth Mentioning

Alongside the major additions, we've made quite a few smaller improvements and fixes across CheatsDB. Here are some worth highlighting:

  • Added indicators for Verified, Detected, and Down products.

  • Added support for filter parameters in URLs, allowing you to share your current filter settings with others or save it for later use.

  • Added new empty-state placeholders for reviews, offers, products, and other sections across the platform.

  • Improved filtering in the Pricing & Sellers section. Only available subscription plans are now displayed, and unavailable payment methods can no longer be selected.

  • Improved the Pricing & Sellers layout on mobile devices.

  • Improved the display of media content across the platform.

  • Improved pop-up windows on mobile devices, fixing cases where desktop layouts were displayed instead.

  • Fixed an issue where the Event Timeline window wouldn't close when clicking outside of it.

We're still actively developing CheatsDB, and there are plenty of things we'd like to improve further. With an update of this size, some issues may also have slipped through our testing.

If you notice something that doesn't work as expected, or have suggestions for improving existing features, we'd appreciate your feedback. You can share it through our forum, or Discord server.

Thanks to everyone who continues to follow and support CheatsDB. We hope you enjoy the update!

Stay tuned for more!
